Installation Requirements

Before any devices can be installed or commissioned into an Andel Cloud system, a few key requirements must be in place. This ensures that the installation process is smooth, secure, and successful.

1 - Scheme Setup

Every installation must be linked to a scheme in Andel Cloud. A scheme represents a specific site or project (such as a residential block, commercial unit, or multi-building estate).

  • Schemes must be created by Andel before installation begins.

  • Devices cannot be commissioned without an active scheme in place.

  • Installer accounts must be granted access to the correct scheme in advance.

2 - User Accounts

After your scheme has been created, one or more owners will have been invited to the system. These owners can then create accounts for installers, tenants, and any other owners.

  • Installers must be set up so they can log into the app and commission devices within the scheme

  • Owners should be invited if they need to monitor devices or configure zones after install

  • Tenants can be added after installation, but will only be able to access devices and receive alerts from zones they are assigned to

3 - Wi-Fi and Network Access

All Andel Cloud devices rely on Wi-Fi for cloud connectivity.

  • Ensure a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is available at each installation location

  • Network name (SSID) and password must be known and provided to the installer

  • Devices must be able to maintain a connection to AWS via the internet

4 - Physical Preparation

Device locations should be identified in advance, e.g. under sinks, in plant rooms, or near high-risk areas.

Zones (building, room, floor, etc.) should be clearly defined for accurate device assignment.

Installer access to the property must be arranged, and any site requirements must be shared with the installer.

5 - Equipment and Materials

Ensure the following are available to the installer before work begins:

  • CloudConnect devices (and any optional sensors)

  • 3x AAA batteries per device

  • Smartphone or tablet with Andel Cloud app installed

  • Wi-Fi connection details for installer device and CloudConnect devices

  • Installer login credentials
