User Roles and Permissions
Andel Cloud provides secure, role-based access to suit the needs of different users, whether you are managing a large portfolio, commissioning devices, or simply receiving alerts for your home or flat.
Each user is assigned a role when their account is created. Your role determines what you can see and do within the Andel Cloud portal and mobile app.
Overview of User Roles

Role Descriptions
Admin
Info
Only Andel staff are given the Admin role
- Full access to all schemes and devices across the Andel Cloud platform
- Can add or remove users of any role to and from any scheme
- Manages system-wide settings, scheme creation, and over-the-air updates (OTA)
Owner
- Manages one or more schemes (eg. property, building, or estate)
- Can add, remove, and assign users within their scheme(s)
- Accesses all features in the web portal and app, including device configuration, event logs, and reporting
- Suitable for building owners, facilities managers, and other people responsible for water safety
Installer
- App-only role for contractors or maintenance teams
- Responsible for physically installing devices and connecting them to the cloud
- Can commission new devices into a scheme, set device names, locations, and types during setup
- Cannot view or manage devices, events, or user data after commissioning
Tenant
- App-only role for residents, tenants, or staff responsible for a specific area or device
- Receives mobile push and/or email notifications if a leak or event is detected on their assigned devices
- Can view status and history for assigned devices using the mobile app
- Cannot manage other users, edit device settings, or access the web portal
