FlowStop 2

The FlowStop® 2 is an advanced water control and leak prevention system designed to monitor and protect properties from costly water damage due to leaks, burst pipes, and abnormal flow. Its automatic shut-off capability ensures rapid intervention in the case of excessive or continuous water flow, reducing both the frequency and severity of water-related insurance claims. It is ideal for student accommodation, apartment complexes, hotels, residential properties, offices, and vacant properties. The system is WRAS approved for domestic cold water supplies.

Overview

The FlowStop® 2 system includes:

  • Valve Unit: Contains an integrated latching solenoid valve and flow rate sensor.
  • Control Unit: Equipped with a full-colour LCD display, LED indicators, and navigation buttons for easy operation. This unit can monitor up to two valve units and one FloodLine sensor zone for leaks.

The system provides 24-hour protection by continuously monitoring the water supply for conditions such as excessive flow rate, continuous flow, low temperature, and periods of non-use, shutting off the supply when required.

Features and Benefits

  • Continuous Flow Protection: Automatically shuts off water if continuous flow exceeds 1-120 minutes (user adjustable).
  • Excessive Flow Rate Protection: Shuts off water if flow exceeds 5-40 liters per minute (user adjustable).
  • Low Temperature Freeze Protection: Shuts off water if ambient air temperature falls below a threshold to reduce the risk from freezing pipes (0-25C, user adjustable).
  • Non-Use Protection: Isolates the water supply if no water is used within a pre-set period (1 to 48 hours, user adjustable).
  • Override Feature: Allows for prolonged water use, such as garden watering, by temporarily disabling flow monitoring.
  • Leak Detection Sensors: Optional FloodLine leak sensors for more localized monitoring in critical areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Additional Products

  • Additional FlowStop Valve Unit: Each control unit can monitor and control up to two FlowStop Valve Units, each with independent configurable settings.
  • FloodLine Leak Detection Sensors
    • Point Sensors: Compact and robust unit placed at specific points to detect leaks in high-risk areas such as under sinks and around water heaters. Ideal where detection cable could be damaged or where some moisture is expected but not a concern.
    • Flexi-Pad Sensors: Flexible sensors that designed for narrow voids, great in drip trays or underneath washing machines and dishwashers.
    • Leak Detection Cable: A high sensitivity flexible cable designed to be run underneath floors or tied to the underside of pipework.
  • Remote Alarm: A hardwired remote alarm panel to notify building managers or occupants that a FlowStop has detected a leak. Ideal in multi-unit buildings, or when the FlowStop is installed where its own alarm may not be heard.
  • GSM Communicator: A GSM communication module allows SMS and email alerts for leak detections or system faults. This is useful for remote monitoring, ensuring that any issues with water flow or potential leaks are quickly reported, even if personnel are off-site.
